Vehicle Release & Payment Information


If your vehicle was towed, wheel-booted, or stickered on private property, this page explains why it may have happened and how to resolve it as quickly as possible.

Retrieve a Towed Vehicle

*Safety Notice*

For your safety and ours:

  • Vehicle Releases per Appointment Only.

  • Do not enter the lot without staff approval.

  • Do not remove/tamper any immobilization devices.

  • Abusive or threatening behavior may result in refusal of service and/or law enforcement involvement.

Step 1: Confirm location and reason

Your vehicle was removed due to a parking violation on private property (apartment community, commercial lot, or managed property) under that property’s posted rules and policies.

Vehicle Releases per appointment only.

Step 2: Bring required documents

To release a vehicle, we require by North Carolina law:

  • Valid government-issued photo ID

  • Proof of ownership or authority to pick up the vehicle (registration/title, insurance card, rental agreement, or notarized authorization if applicable)

Step 3: Payment and release

Once all requirements are met and payment is completed (if applicable), the vehicle will be released to the authorized owner/driver.

Releasing Hours are 7am to 7pm; outside of releasing hours will incur an extra fee.


Boot Removal

If your vehicle has a wheel boot/ wheel inmobilizer, it must remain on the vehicle until removed by our authorized staff.

Do not attempt to remove or tamper with the boot. Tampering may result in additional fees and/or law enforcement involvement.

Boot Removal Fees

Boot removal fees are:

  • Cash: $200

  • Digital Payments

    • Zelle (704) 605-5569
      Customer must verify that the Zelle payment is sent using a method that delivers funds within minutes (instant transfer).
      Payments that are delayed or processed over hours or days are not accepted for immediate release.
      The immobilizer will be removed only after payment is fully received and confirmed in our account.$200

    • Cash App (704) 605-5569: $220

  • Credit Cards: $5 Admin Fee per transaction plus 5%

Payment notes:

  • Apple Pay is not accepted.

  • Credit card payments require the physical card to be present, a valid government photo ID and registration matching the cardholder name.

After-hours fee

Boot removals between 12:00 am – 6:00 am include an additional $40 after-hours fee.


Sticker/ Parking Notice

A sticker or notice may be placed on a vehicle to inform the owner of a violation (examples: no parking permit, expired visitor registration, parked in reserved/handicap/fire lane, blocking access, parked in resident-only space, flat tire, etc.).

Stickers/notices are used to communicate violations and reduce towing when possible. Continued noncompliance may result in booting or towing. Please contact Mid Fifties Towing & Recovery to avoid any inconvenience.

Disputes & Property Rules

Towing and booting on private property is performed based on the property’s rules and authorization. If you have questions about the property policy (permits, visitor registration, assigned parking, lease requirements), you should also contact the leasing office/property management where the vehicle was parked.

If you believe there was an error, you may request a review by providing:

  • Plate number and vehicle details

  • Date/time and location

  • Any documentation (permit confirmation, visitor registration confirmation, lease authorization, etc.)
